IVG’S JOURNEY TO MARS 

iVG’s Journey to Mars is is not just any endeavor - we're crafting a new narrative about establishing civilization on Mars!
We use XR tech to design an immersive world and gamifying the Heroine's Journey, focusing on a unique conversation around the female menstrual cycle. Teen girls all around our world today struggle with what is called "Period Shaming" which negatively affects their confidence in their most vulnerable years. Using VR, AR and AI platforms, our design work brings meaningful change into the world while positively impacting the lives of teen girls,  boost the confidence of millions of teen girls globally, as we normalize the conversation around this topic. 

The competition enables sixteen girls / non-binary 13 - 17 years old, to dive into the world of XR, make a difference in the lives of teen girls, interact through their avatar and meet women leaders in immersive tech through education and mentorship. 

​➣ CONDITIONS AND ELIGIBILITY

Participants join the Journey to Mars Program for eight weeks and will have access to a range of resources during that time. 

Who: 16 emerging Virtual Reality creators that identify as girls/ non-binary digital creators between the ages of 13-17.

Criteria:

- Availability during the period 

- Residing in the UK or POLAND.

- Have a strong command of the English language.

- Must have a guardian sign on behalf of the participant.

- Willingness to create and experiment as well as exchange and learn with peers to develop new skills together.​

➣ AWARD

Participants will each receive a Meta Quest 2 VR Headset.

➣ ENGAGEMENT OF PARTICIPANTS

START: TBC

Participants and Mentors will get to know each other in VR, on the Meta Quest headset and learn how to use the technology.

Selected participants will meet virtually three times a week for one hour each using the Meta Quest 2 VR Headset and commit to a total of 24 hours over the course of eight weeks.  

Workshops will take place on TBC in addition to optional Saturdays.  ​
